#70 and #71  80 øre overprint

 

Printing: 50.000 on 12 øre and 49.000 on 8 øre official stamp #6.
Issued: July 1918
Dark blue overprint.

 

The value 80 øre was mainly used for parcels to other countries. The two overprints were issued on July the 17th 1915 and followed by #72 Chr. X 80 øre on August the 2th 1915. Used stamps of the two overprints with a cancellation from 1915 are rare and are sold at higher prices than given below.

Overprint on print 32 of #22. One stamp in each sheet has inverted frame. Inverted frame is a rare stamp and rarer cancelled than unused - price at auctions from 500 Euros.

 

The two overprints 80 øre are relatively rare stamps (small number in the printing!) and unused are more common than used. Notice that stamps cancelled much later tnan 1915 are common and do not have the value of a stamp cancelled correct. Prices for stamps with late cancellation or unused copies are less than half the price of a correct cancelled stamp.
